On 1st
November, 1959 this Institute started functioning with
a seating capacity of 80 in the building of Sir
Bhavsinhji Polytechnic Institute. Institute switched
over to its own new building on 1st November, 1965
which is spread over 14 acres land. At present it
expanded up to
27 trades
running in three shifts with
1368
sanction seats.
In ITI campus hostel building facility is available
with the intake capacity of 100 trainees. Recently
Institute has been selected to upgrade as a Center of
Excellence in Automobile sector. In accordance with
the policy of promoting Public-Private-Partnership,
Institute Management Committees (IMC) was constituted
in ITI in the year of 2005.
With a
view to provide technically qualified man-power
required for different industries and to be helpful to
provide employment, this Institute is running
different Informal Short term courses. More over
Institute is imparting Spoken English training to all
trade trainees for enhancing their communication
skill.
In 2000 AD Government of Gujarat wanted to develop in
computer courses in the State. Short term courses were
started in ITI with 228 seats 'O' level computer
courses of
1. Data
Entry Operator
2. Desk Top Publishing
3. Financial Accounting.
Recently,
Gujarat government has notified to literate all
Government employees with Computer Operations. We are
proud to be selected as a Training Centre for
imparting training to the government employees of
Bhavnagar District. Training course for Class-III
employee (CCC) and Class-I and Class-II (CCC +) has
been already running successfully in our Institute.
At present the whole country is facing serious
un-employment problem. So the Directorate of
employment and training has arranged recruitment fair
to settle the un-employed in private sectors against
public sectors and also trying to settle un-employed
in the various field of industries and business. So
doing more work in this field Gujarat wants to achieve
high goal in this field. Gujarat is the first State to
prepare a fully computerized result of various ITIs in
India
